Star Anise / Chakraphool

Star anise is a spice derived from the dried fruit of the Illicium verum tree, a native of Southeast Asia. It has a distinctive, star-shaped appearance and a flavor that's sweet, licorice-like, and slightly pungent. While often mistaken for anise seed, it's botanically different and has a more pronounced flavor.
